Mission Statement

PS17 is dedicated and committed to creating spaces for all community members to use their voices in powerful ways

• by fostering spaces to learn about ourselves and others
• by recognizing the systemic barriers, implicit biases, and privileges that have historically excluded marginalized groups, holding ourselves accountable in supporting all students to achieve academic and personal success. 
• by adjusting curriculum to foster collaboration, culturally responsive practices and advanced literacies across content areas. 

As students leave PS17, it is our sincerest hope that we have promoted L.O.V.E. so that they are able to use their voices and make a positive impact as leaders to better themselves, their communities and their world.
